The Gurgaon Manesar Urban Complex 2031 plan (GMUC 2031) is the latest version of the development plan for the area between Gurgaon and Industrial Model Township (IMT) at Manesar. This development plan will guide and manage development in the area for the coming decade half. The city of Gurgaon is growing at a rapid pace and GMUC 2031 was developedand a to complement this pace of urbanisation in an organised manner. The plan for the areas between Gurgaon and IMT Manesar were drawn with access to public transportation and open space corridors along with allied support infrastructure and amenities required to support the work, education and residential development. The plan envisages the overall population of the region to reach 42.5 lakhs by the year 2031. The open space strategies on the plan indicate buffer areas and conservation zones between the industrial town and the urban fringe areas of Gurgaon and create room for redefinition of these places to their true potential.
